Pray for healing.
At Medical Teams International, we work in difficult places, where people are suffering and danger is real. As a non-denominational Christian organization
, we value prayer as a way to acknowledge our need for God’s blessing on all of our efforts.
We pray for those we serve, for our volunteer teams, and for partners working in the field.
Current Prayer Requests
…encourage the fainthearted, help the weak … pray without ceasing.

Praying in times of devastating natural disasters
God, in times like these we are overwhelmed by the devastating number of natural disasters around us. We remember you are a God of mercy and hope. We ask that your mercy and grace will be a tangible presence in the lives of people affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, the devastation in the Caribbean, as well as destruction from the Mexico City earthquake. We stand in solidarity together praying for people affected by these disasters that they may be comforted, encouraged and have growing hope as their homes, communities and cities recover.
Praying in times of violence against humanity
God we are very disturbed by the violence and suffering of the Rohingya people from Myanmar who have fled to find refuge in Bangladesh. We pray that the violence will stop. We pray for children to be reunited with their families; for mothers as they protect and provide necessities for their babies and children; and for the government, aid agencies, and MTI staff. Give wisdom to MTI staff and our local partners that they find the best means to provide urgently needed shelter, clean water, food, and healthcare. We pray for all refugees arriving and settling in Bangladesh to experience a place of safety and peace of mind.
Please pray for people still waiting for rescue, that they are safe and sustained in their time of need and that help would come soon. Pray for families, that God will comfort them in the aftermath of these traumatic events, provide strength in the midst of great loss, and that they will find rest and shelter.
Pray for the churches and faith communities that are affected by and extending help to victims of the storm, that their efforts would be an example of God’s compassion, generosity, and embracing grace as they hold on to hope and carry out sacrificial acts of service for people suffering severe loss.
Pray for law enforcement officers as they tirelessly work to provide rescue, shelter, security, and coordination of services. Especially lift up in prayer the family and associated police unit of Sgt. Steve Perez, who lost his life while driving to help others.
Pray for local, state, and federal government officials to exercise great wisdom and resourcefulness as they advocate for and manage the myriad logistics and services in response to the storm and plan for recovery.
Pray for non-profit rescue and response organizations, that they will have the resources and manpower to provide immediate assistance and long-term care.
South Sudanese Refugees in Uganda
Please pray for protection, healing and comfort for the thousands of South Sudanese refugees seeking safer lives in Uganda
. Pray that our staff will have the resources they need to give care to the infants, mothers and families in desperate need. Pray that no child will go without food, shelter or medicine. Pray that those inflicting violence in South Sudan will be called to peace.
Please pray for the Syrian refugee families who have lost everything. Pray for emotional healing and support for those who feel trapped. Pray that children will have the medicine and care they need to stay healthy. Pray that pregnant mothers and those with infants will have the supplies they need to keep their babies safe. Pray that all-- especially the elderly and children-- will be able to endure the difficult conditions.
